Parking

Park on either lot on "top of the hill" in front of the Main Entrance (you can see the words "Main Entrance" from Maple Road). To gain entry to the upper lots (there are 2--connected by small walkways)--turn into the Main Drive from W. Maple Road.  Follow the road as it curves to the left (if you go straight, you will end up at the Emergency entrance).   Shortly after the left curve, you will see a sign (on your left) that says "Staff Parking"--follow that drive up the hill (a very short distance) and park in any available spot in either lot.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN PATIENT PARKING AREAS.

Nursing Units


GARDEN LEVEL(CHESTNUT) –ICU/STEP-DOWN

Unit Description

The Garden level ICU/Step-down is a closed model with a neurological focus. The healthcare team members collaborate to provide evidenced-based care to critically ill patients. Patients assigned to this unit require maximum intensive nursing care and observation.

 



1ST CDU (CHESTNUT)

Unit Description

The CDU is a 23-hour clinical decision unit.

 



1st FLOOR(ACORN-BIRCH)-ONCOLOGY

Unit Description

The 1st floor is an adult inpatient medical unit providing 24-hour/7days per week care to adolescents through geriatric patient population. Care is provided for both acute and chronic exacerbation of medical/oncology conditions. The unit has a cooperative working relationship with Hospices of Henry Ford.

 



GARDEN LEVEL(ACORN-BIRCH)-NEUROSCIENCE/ORTHO

Unit Description

The Neuroscience/Orthopedic Unit located on the Garden Level operates 24-hours/7days per week. The neuroscience services provided are highly specialized and coordinated with services provided throughout Henry Ford Health System. Care is provide for those adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical evaluation of seizure disorders or needing definitive diagnosis, patients meeting specific criteria for the clinical acute stroke program, and  post-op neurosurgical patients . The orthopedic patients shall include post-op joint replacement surgery and spinal surgery.

 



2ND FLOOR (ACORN-BIRCH)-MEDICAL-SURGICAL

Unit Description

The 2nd floor is an adult inpatient unit that focuses on the care and recovery of the surgical patient. The surgical unit provides 24 hour/7days per week care. Services include: General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Colon and Rectal Surgery, ENT, Oral Surgery, Urology, and overflow from other medical/surgical GPU’s.

 



2ND FLOOR(CHESTNUT)-MEDICAL-SURGICAL ICU

Unit Description

The 2nd floor ICU is a closed model with a medical/surgical focus. The healthcare team members collaborate to provide evidenced-based care to critically ill patients. Patients assigned to this unit require maximum intensive nursing care and observation.

 



3RD FLOOR (ACORN-BIRCH)-WOMEN AND CHILDREN

Unit Description

The 3rd floor is a Pediatric and Women’s Health Unit providing 24 hour/7days per week care. The Pediatric Unit cares for children from birth through the age of 18 years of age. The Women’s health unit specializes in the medical/surgical care of women and is also equipped to manage postpartum patients and infants.

 



LABOR & DELIVERY

Unit Description

The birthing center unit hours of operation are 24 hour/7days per week. The birthing center provides care to healthy and acutely ill childbearing women before, during, and after labor and birth, who are low to high risk for obstetrical complications.

 



SPECIAL CARE NURSERY

Unit Description

The Newborn Special Care Unit will be staffed, equipped, and supplied to care for high risk infants who require cardio-respiratory monitoring, respiratory support, IV therapy, parenteral nutrition, antibiotic therapy, and treatment for hyperbilirubinemia.
