Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, a non-profit corporation governed by a 20-member community-based Board of Trustees, records $534 million in revenues annually.

It is a member of the world-renowned Henry Ford Health System.

Established in 1926, our mission is to improve human health through excellence in the science and art of health care healing.

Today, our more than 589 skilled physicians treat more than 74,600 people in our emergency department; they also perform more than 19,600 surgeries and deliver over 1,600 babies. The hospital admits, on average, more than 18,000 patients each year.

Serving the Downriver region and surrounding communities of southeast Michigan, Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital is one of the major employers of the city of Wyandotte with 2,300 employees.

The hospital also has an Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education program, offering rotations to residents, interns and third-and-fourth-year medical students.

Parking

Please park in the area on the north side of Lot J, across from the emergency department, north of DeSana Drive.

Students who violate the hospital’s parking program will not be allowed on campus and will be dismissed from the program. Students who area handicapped and have a valid State of Michigan issued handicapped permit must contact the Security department and reasonable accommodations will be arranged. As always, student parking will remain free and safe. If you have any questions, please contact a Security at 702444.

Faculty Information

Before any students begin clinical rotations the school/instructor needs to:

 

o  Turn into Employee Health Services, one week prior to starting, the Student Information Sheet (attached) and all required health information (see attached information).  Employee Health can be contacted by phone at 734-246-6045 or by fax at 734-246-7112 (or send via ACE)

 

o  Turn in list of students to Nursing Education (or send via ACE).  Copies will be forwarded to the nursing unit, Employee Health and Security.  (Nursing Education can be contacted by phone at 734-246-6038 or by fax at 734-324-3474)

 

o  Instructor should make appointment with Security to get ID badges (Security can be contacted by phone at 734-324-3470).  All students and instructors must have an HFWH ID badge before reporting to any nursing unit/patient care area.

 

Instructor should pick up copies of the HFWH Agency / Contractor / Student Handbook for themselves and each of their students and return signed pages back to Nurse Educator or Nursing Education (2nd Floor Allen Building).  This can be done when here for ID badges.

There is no locker space for students, so have them bring as little as possible
