Since 1866, Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM) has been dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to children and adolescents in a caring, efficient and family-centered environment. A proud member of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC), Children’s Hospital of Michigan is currently the only freestanding children’s hospital in the state.
Staffed by more than 2,000 employees, CHM has 460 physicians, 125 pediatric specialists, 600 pediatric-trained nurses; more Michigan pediatricians are trained at Children's Hospital than at any other hospital in the state.
Children's is specifically designed to cater to pediatric patients, from our kid-friendly emergency room that treats more than 85,000 children each year, to our newly remodeled patient rooms that have areas for parents to rest comfortably in with their child. With playrooms, activity centers, computer labs, and classrooms on every floor, our facility makes a child's temporary transition from home to hospital easy with our remarkable attention to detail.
